Landings of Guadalcanal and Peleliu Begins!

According to Capt. Dale Dye, the military advistor for “Pacific”, the first sequences filmed will be the Marine landings of Guadalcanal and Peleliu. The Captain made an interesting observation about how the beaches of Mossman and Port Douglas (Australia) have an “amazing similarity to the photos we’ve seen of the [real] beaches back during the war. Former “Rome” Director Joins Crew

Carl Franklin, a director for HBO’s “Rome” television series, has joined HBO again and will helm segments of “Pacific” this Fall.  Franklin currently is working on “The Maintenance Man” a comedy-drama to be released early next year. More information can be found here.


Trio Set for “Pacific” Duty

Three more actors have been casted for HBO’s “Pacific” television event. They are Jon Seda, Ashton Holmes, and Rami Malek. They join previously cast James Badge Dale, Val Lauren and Joe Mazzello in the 10-hour companion piece to Hanks and Spielberg’s Emmy-winning 2001 saga “Band of Brothers.”
